Thanks to John Cooper for taking pictures while I was time trialling with our usual paparazzo Morley Dore. Thanks as well to all of the other volunteers who make this event a pleasure to participate in regardless of any weather challenges!
Tonight we had cloudy skies with 13km/h winds from the south-southwest, a temperature of 23.5C and air pressure of 101.5kPa. Rain was predicted, but fortunately did not materialize. This was the final time trial of the Women's Time Trial series, and people with OCA insurance were invited, or could invite themselves to ride on a team so long as there was at least one woman on the team. The rider turnout was small - 14 people spread over 8 teams, perhaps because of the prediction of rain to start during the time trial. Fortunately no rain materialized, letting participants and volunteers enjoy the event and arrive at the awards dinner afterwards dry. A number of factors lead to first limiting the most improved down to two women: Margaret King and Penny Carmichael:
